LoadFunctionLibrary with & without PathFinder

Hi,

We can use function 'LoadFunctionLibrary' with or without PathFinder:

LoadFunctionLibrary path

LoadFunctionLibrary PathFinder.Locate (path)

Which is better off the two? or do they serve different purposes?

Rgds.

Re: LoadFunctionLibrary with & without PathFinder

Hi Qathirst,

Thank you for your question.
The locate method returns the full file path that UFT uses for the specified relative path (resolves the path) based on the folders specified in the Folders search list (Tools > Options > GUI Testing tab > Folders pane) of the Options dialog box.

When you use instead: LoadFunctionLibrary (path) it might work faster since resolving the path is not required.
I hope this clarifies.

Re: LoadFunctionLibrary with & without PathFinder

Thx for the info, Eickel!
What happens if 'locate' is used & no folders are specified in the folders search list?...assuming an error would be thrown?

Re: LoadFunctionLibrary with & without PathFinder

For my case pathfinder.locate smoothly.

I tried it only LoadFunctionLibrary but sometime it fails.

Thanks

Hi Qathirst,

Yes, it displays the following error message:

Locatelibrary.jpg

As expected.
