Phone refuses to logout

Phone refuses to logout

I'm trying to change a users extension on 7.1.16c.

 

I can't unassign the phone or delete it.

I get the message "Unassign operation failed. Phone is not logged out"

 

 

I even created a new extension and assigned it to the user and it still refuses to logout the first extension. 

 

The user isn't part of an EPIC group.

Hi,

 

I suggest that you remove the phone from any and all groups on the system, such as Hunt Groups, Page Groups, Call Pickup Groups, etc. Also remove any MAC locking from the phone and physically reboot the phone. Once all that is done, you should be able to log the phone out.

Thanks John,

 

the new extension and DID rings through to the phone but the old one is still associated with the user and refuses to be removed. Perhaps delete the mailbox first?

Hi,

 

You're welcome. Deleting the old mailbox is certainly a good thing to do, in terms of clean up. To delete the old phone, you first need to Unassign it from the old user. Once the old phone is Unassigned, then you should be able to delete the old phone and user.
