Can each vPAR boot from the same internal bootable disk local to the physical server?

Hi,

I have an integrity server with only one local disk, with HP-UX DCOE 11.3.  I am creating 4 vPARs.

Can each vPAR boot from the same internal bootable disk local to the physical server?

Thanks.

Yaboto.

Well, it depends on what vpars we speak about here. Superdome (firmware based), or legacy (versions A.05.xx) or

version 6 (B.06.xx).

The answer is no for the first 2 as HW resources are separate for each vpar.

For V6 the answer is yes, but probably not in the way that you were thinking about. Each guest (vpar) needs

to have its own boot disk, but these could be logical volumes or files, possibly all placed on the same VSP boot disk.
