Question About Virtualization on Windows / Linux

First of all; i apologize for post this question in this category; but i think that this is where i can found an answer.

I have read about virtualization and i want to evaluate it in my company's integrity servers. But we only have installed windows or linux in ours server (we do not have any hp-ux license), it is possible to install the virtualization software under this operating systems??

Thanks in Advanced.

Re: Question About Virtualization on Windows / Linux

If you have HP-UX installed, you can run HPVM to virtualize HP-UX, Linux and Windows.

If you don't have HP-UX, it don't think any existing software handles virtualization of Itanium, only X86.

Re: Question About Virtualization on Windows / Linux

Hi

HPVM can be installed on top of the HP-UX only. VM host shoule be a HP-UX system.

Re: Question About Virtualization on Windows / Linux

If you have Linux as an Operating System you can install VMWare to get virtualised machines. If you want to use HP Integrity Virtual Machines, you will have to install HP-UX 11.23 as the Host OS on a server.
