ntegrity Virtual Machines A.03.50 requirements

HP Integrity Virtual Machines A.03.50 is supported on HP Integrity servers or nPartitions running HP-UX 11i v2 (December 2007 0712 or later).

Is applying the June 2008 support pack to a previous installation the equivalent?

Support pack???

The entire core of the OS must be at least december 2007 - this means either cold install or update-ux if you are running an earlier release.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Shalom,

You mean QPK? If so, yes.

Installing the patch bundles is **NOT** equivalent, see my earlier post here:

Hope this helps!

Re: ntegrity Virtual Machines A.03.50 requirements

Nope.

You must upgrade or intall to HPUX 11.23 Dec 2007 Core. IVM 3.5 is dependant on that Core release.

I tested the upgrade from 11.23 June 2007 to Dec 2007 eight times over with no issue.

Do not forget to patch the Dec 2007 core when you are done as it does not include all the patches from the Dec 2007 QPK. ( almost but not quite, go figure ).

Would I have to boot from DVD and run an upgrade in the same manner one would when upgrading from 11.11 ?

You need to swinstall the update-ux product and run it. Details are here:

Re: ntegrity Virtual Machines A.03.50 requirements

When testing my guest's upgrades I found it easier to swcopy the DVD contents to a filesystem. I now have a depot that I can use instead of representing DVDs from host to host.

Then swinstall the update-ux and update-ux from the depot I created.

Read the update procedures. They are pretty straight forward.
