HP 1920 moving ports to VLANS
Hello
I just have my hands on HP 1920 we managed switch. Prior to that never had used web as managing switches, always been using CLI.
I take session through switch IP
I create VLANS on 1920.
Move all ports to a newly created VLAN (Including the port through which I have connected by pc to access the switch)
As the ports are moving to the new VLAN , i lose connection and never get back to the switch through its IP address using web as well as telnet.
But I move all other ports into the other VLAN, except the one, so it works fine.
I think i am having lack of understanding of VLANS here.
But never had such experience previously, using telnet.
P.S IP address of the PC is of same subnet as of switch.
Thanks

Re: HP 1920 moving ports to VLANS
Hi !
If the switch has an IP address in VLAN 1 and you are connected to the VLAN 2, you will not be able to access the switch without having an L3 device that do the routing between Vlans.

Re: HP 1920 moving ports to VLANS
Both the switch and pc have IP address of the same subnet.
i-e 10.10.10.10 for switch
10.10.10.11 for pc

What vlan in switch is associated with that IP (VLAN interface)?
Host is on which VLAN ??
