Proliant DL385 G6 with Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V
Hi there,
We have a Proliant Dl385 G6 with 32GB of RAM and 2 processors (Opteron 2435)
It is running Hyper V with 2 client guests. Both guests are running 2008 R2 Standard
The guests are very slow. They are both configured with 4 proicessors and 8 GB of RAM.
If I run Performance test Benchmark at the Host level, I get very good numbers. However, running in the guest the performance is dismal (like 10% of what I am getting at the host)
Only Role enabled at the Host is Hyper-V
I have performed the same test on a DL585 G5 we have with the same guests (copied the VHD's over) and the numbers are consistent with the number of processors enabled in the guest.
Whereas on the DL385 G6 I seem to be getting very bad performance. Any ideas ?
Thanks

Re: Proliant DL385 G6 with Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V
Hi,
When you did the test on DL585 G5 server the result were good but was the hardware same, eg:Processor and RAM.
I would suggest to update the BIOS on DL385 G6 and clear NVRAM, bring the BIOS to factory default configuration.
Good Luck!
I work for HPE.
