HP Color Laserjet 1600

Just trying to solve a printer issue.  The printer leaves light shaded bands approx 1.5cm high across the page encompassing a line of faint 10pt text and repeating the  same band approx 4cm apart down the page.  I have tried using the cleaning function at least 5 times and it is getting lighter but is still visible.  Any solutions??
