HP Product Support Forums are now disorganized
What's going on at HP?
There used to be support forums organized by product, so if I have a problem with an HP enterprize network scanner, I could browse to that product and see the support forum for that product. I didn't have to search and find 100,000 unrelated posts.
I could read the forum and there would usually be a person somewhere in the world who had that problem and smart guys had given a solution, which then worked for me, I could fix the customer issue and look like a hero. No muss no fuss.
It was neat, I would read posts and interact with military guys in Iraq during the war who were dealing with the same IT problems there in wartime that we at home were.
Now as far as I can tell, there is a forum for printers, not organized by product, that I can search in but not really browse, because with 4.7 million posts, well, that's not possible.
Because this is no longer organized by product. That's just wrong. Worthless. Some older products that are no longer made, I have to keep them running, because there is no practical replacement. HP cannot provide support because it would take you three weeks to find someone at HP that is old enough to remember some older products.
So the support forums were really great. The knowledge archived there over the years, thousands of smart guys in the trenches worldwide sharing knowledge that is just so hard to come by. It really didn't exist elsewhere.
Now, that seems to be all disorganized. Gone.
You should bring that back. Heck, VBulletin would be better than what you got now. This is riduculous. Worthless.

Re: HP Product Support Forums are now disorganized
For example,
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/bd-p/Install
Is about all HP printers. I know the model of the printer I am dealing with, so there is no reason the articles about any other product should be on the screen at all.
But they are.

Re: HP Inc. Product Support Forums are now disorganized
This is the wrong company for printers and PC products. You need to register in the HP Inc. Support Forum:
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/
In particular you might try the feedback board there for your comments:

Re: HP Inc. Product Support Forums are now disorganized
I realize the company has been separated, but the complaint about the condition of the forums remains.
Let me also say the smart guys were always at ITRC. Heh. It was amazing!

Re: HP Inc. Product Support Forums are now disorganized
>I realize the company has been separated
This is the only important thing. You need to complain to the right company and forum.
>the complaint about the condition of the forums remains.
This was noted in this forum when the products were split. Not sure if anybody has complained on the HP Inc. side.
