Help your data feel at home wherever you need and want it to be

For some time now, the Public Cloud was seen as the ideal home for all data. Now, it doesn’t seem as “homey” and welcoming any more. We’ll be happy to show you why and how HPE and VMware can deliver a superior cloud experience and enable your data across clouds when you join us at VMworld 2020 from September 29 – October 1. No question you’ll benefit from what we have to offer so register for the event today.

Souring a bit on the Public Cloud as “home, sweet home”

The Public Cloud definitely delivers agility, flexibility, and in many cases, lower costs. But as many enterprises have discovered, it is not appropriate for situations where data security, privacy, and confidentiality are essential – either to ensure regulatory compliance or simply to respond to customer expectations. Public Cloud often cannot provide access to data as quickly as needed and may charge budget-bending egress fees. As a result, more and more companies are choosing to keep data in their data centers and on the Cloud.

So now, the question becomes: how do you coordinate data in both locations, especially if you are dealing with virtual workloads?

The answer is easy: Work with HPE. We help you enable Public Cloud for your VMware environment and its virtual workloads by facilitating / enabling the ability to migrate data easily, as well as back up and recover it.

How we help you hit a home run

HPE offers solutions that empower your data across clouds. They include all technologies and approaches needed to make cloud work for you – from compute and storage platforms to revolutionary new ways to acquire and manage the solution. Here are a few key examples:

HPE Cloud Volumes - It’s your data, and you should control where it goes. HPE Cloud Volumes delivers data mobility and eliminates cloud lock-in, unlocking the value of data across its lifecycle by providing seamless data mobility between public cloud and on-premises infrastructure. As a result, you can easily move data between public cloud and your own datacenter. In combination with our cloud-ready flash arrays, you can build your own multi-cloud data center with the ability to rapidly on-ramp data to cloud or move it to another provider or back in house without any costly data egress charges.

HPE Nimble Storage dHCL for VVols – Our 18+ year alliance with VMware mean that we work in close partnership to ensure that our joint solutions are performance proven and deliver the results you expect. This is certainly the case with HPE Nimble Storage dHCL, which offers:

  • Simplified integration with VMware vCenter®, configured and deployed in a single UI dialog. The VASA provider is embedded in the array and is enabled with a single checkbox in the UI.
  • Simplified workflows for snapshots, replication, and cloning of vVol-implemented VMs. All of these operations are performed on the array—eliminating unnecessary data transfer to the host.
  • HPE Nimble Storage Performance Policies, both default and user-defined, are made available for specification in VMware Storage Policies. The performance policy specifies a specific application type as well as other array-based features, such as block size, compression, and deduplication. Each of these attributes can be tuned on a per-virtual-disk basis.

HPE Synergy and VMware Cloud Foundation - With VMware Cloud Foundation running on HPE Synergy, you enjoy a single, consistent hybrid cloud experience. Only HPE and VMware can deliver a software-defined solution running on a modular infrastructure that logically pools resources to reduce both underutilization and overprovisioning to create a more agile, cost-effective, and fully modernized data center. In addition, this joint solution is:

  • Validated to minimize project risk with reliable HPE-validated designs and builds.
  • Automated to speed time to value by automating 200+ steps—going from deployment to lifecycle management in just a few clicks—leading to 5X faster solution deployments.
  • Integrated to deliver enhanced productivity through composability with HPE OneView Connector for VMware Cloud Foundation and the HPE OneView Plug-ins for VMware vCenter
  • Optimized to increase flexibility and expandability of scalable operations, while also enhancing solution management

How easily can I get it all?

With HPE GreenLake VM as-a-Service (VMaaS), the answer is “very.”

Whether you’re looking to expand the virtualized capacity of your data center or making an initial move to virtual machines, HPE GreenLake delivers the virtualized flexibility, agility, and velocity your business demands entirely as a service, with a total cost of ownership that’s 30% lower than you’d see with a traditional hardware purchase. Plus, you’ll have exceptional visibility into—and control over—resource utilization, and you’ll work side-by-side with HPE to expand your configuration as your needs evolve.

This is an acquisition approach that allows to provision for what you need, yet pay only for the capacity you use. You can also scale up or down quickly as needed in response to rapidly-changing realities. The HPE GreenLake approach also offers the best of two worlds: the agility of Public Cloud and the data control of on prem, with the ability to quickly and reliably move data between the two.

Questions for us? Bring ‘em on home.

Join us at VMworld 2020 and do over any questions you might have with HPE Subject Matter Experts who will be available throughout the event. You can also attend an HPE session titled:

“Simplify IT with HPE GreenLake Cloud Services and VMware.”  This is a 60-minute session (Session ID MCOP3088S) that’s available on demand for your convenience. It includes short segments covering HPE GreenLake services, and how to get your VMs quickly in the infrastructure that is best for your situation. You’ll find out how to use our VDI service, VMware Cloud Foundation and HPE Synergy for your private cloud. To attend this session and take part in all the VMWorld 2020 events, simply register here.
