Simplifying IT with the all new HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus

Higher performance and more choice: Get the latest on the HPE SimpliVity software release 4.2.0 with features that include the new HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus platform with more resources to power virtual workloads, larger capacity drives, and expanded GPU support.

โ€“By Chuck Wood, Senior Product Marketing Manager for HPE Storage and Hyperconverged Infrastructure

We all know workloads at the edge require simplicity and resilience. HPE SimpliVity systems are built around data resiliency โ€“ not only at the disk level but also at the overall platform level. The management of HPE SimpliVity is designed to beHPe SimpliVity-annc-blog.png simple and efficient โ€“ and to deliver edge-optimized HCI. Yet improving the performance of these edge workloads while balancing the required resilience is a concern for our customers as the demands get higher. We've made a lot of improvements when it comes to simplicity and resilience in the last few releases. So what about performance?

Introducing the HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus with HPE SimpliVity software version 4.2.0

This is a software-optimized, single-socket or dual-socket server based on the 3rd Gen Intelยฎ Xeonยฎ Scalable Processor series with more compute processing, more memory, and more storage resources for powering your virtual workloads. You get:

  • 40% higher performance
  • Larger capacity drives
  • A broad choice of boot controllers, NVIDIA GPUs, and multivendor SSDs to power your virtual workloads

All this while still providing these existing capabilities:

  • Hyper-efficiency
  • Recently added disk resiliency features
  • Data protection capabilities
  • Global unified management

Per node, the HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus offers up to 42% more cores and 33% more memory[1] than the previous generation. It is available in with 3.84TB SSD drives with usable capacities ranging from 7.5 TB, 10, 15, 21, 32 TB. You can HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus serverHPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus servereasily cluster and federate the new model nodes to create a simplified environment for running VM workloads across multiple sites. Start small with a two-node cluster and scale to 16 nodes per cluster and 96 nodes per federation.

With dual-disk resiliency available for software-optimized HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus platforms, you gain peace of mind that your edge with a two-node cluster, distributed deployments are protected with an additional layer of resiliency. This minimizes downtime risk for distributed deployments. This resiliency feature results in a trade-off between capacity and performance. You need to make sure to use Dual Disk Resiliency only when required.

Expanded GPU accelerator support

With the new platform release, you can choose more GPU accelerators to run for your image processing and data workloads that require GPUs. The new HPE SimpliVity 380 Gen10 Plus adds support for a variety of NVIDIA GPUs โ€“ from single-wide NVIDIA T4, A2, and A10 accelerators to double-wide NVIDIA A16, A30, A40, and A100 accelerators.  This expanded flexibility provides you with more choices for modernizing virtual environments with an efficient all-in-one HCI solution including both HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen10 Plus server and NVIDIA accelerators.
