Cabling from HP10Gb Pass-thru module to Cisco 2232
John had a cabling issue:
********************
Hi Folks:
I am planning on using 3m 487655-B21 DAC cables to connect 10Gb Pass-Thru modules to Cisco Nexus 2000's (2232's). Can anyone comment as to whether or not these cables will work. I noticed in the FlexFabric QuickSpec there are other 3m DAC cables, particularly the AP819A.

Steve replied:

The 10Gb Pass Thru will accept any DACs from any manufacturer. Tested cables are HP/ProCurve, BNT, Cisco. Others will work but we do not offer any guarantee and customers must evaluate the risk.
The Cisco switch should allow the B-21 cables but the Cisco switch needs to be configured to accept non Cisco cables and will complain about it in the CLI.
