We all know Murphy ’s Law – what can go wrong, will go wrong.

We are all familiar with the situation where during an important meeting or coffee talk and the phone rings and creates havoc. Another possibility is that there is total chaos after the meeting because something simple went wrong – like a full disk due to a missed log file clean up. If only we had seen the situation developing as it happened, we could have prevented the problem; but, we were in that important meeting …
With the new HP Operations Manager i (OMi) Quick Access Windows 8 App, those times are over. The HP OMi Quick Access Tiles give you direct access to your critical OMi dashboards and they get updated in real-time with the latest events. You will never miss seeing a critical event coming in.
You can install this app directly from the Microsoft app store onto your Windows 8 desktop, laptop or a tablet like the HP ElitePad, which is an ideal way to keep on top of every incident. After installing the app, configure it with your HP OMi server credentials. On connecting to HP OMi, all the dashboards setup in your environment are displayed and you can pin the data you want to see as tiles to the Windows 8 start screen. The tiles are updated every 30 seconds with the latest event status—this way you always have an overview of your environment. You can directly launch the full OMi dashboard from a tile to get the complete overview of all events.
Now, the next time you have another one of those important meetings, take your HP ElitePad (or any other Windows 8 tablet) and be able to react to any critical event. You can immediately start the full HP OMi dashboard, understand the full context of the problem and fix it before it escalates. Now you have also done something useful in that important meeting.
