Consolidation-Data Classification?

Hi All! I posted this in the NAS and SAN sections as well.

I have several HP Servers that I am using as File Servers and I am looking to consolidate them down toa single, or at most, a pair of clustered systems and I wanted to know if anyone has a good solution for discovering the information that I have and finding out what is old information, duplicated, etc. so when I make the move I am not moving old data and wasting storage space and all of the processes that are effected, like backup, etc.
