Re: install 2nd CPU on rp5450
Have anyone of you face this problem before. I have a rp5450 running on hpux 11.11 install with 1 x CPU . Now I wanted to add a second CPU, it failed. After inserting the second CPU there is no display on the screen. But, when I move the second CPU to the lst slot it work. This show that the CPU is working, but why it does not work when I instert to the 2nd slot. Pls advice???
Regards
Vincent

Re: Re: install 2nd CPU on rp5450
You must use the same CPU model.
Please compare the part numbers.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Re: install 2nd CPU on rp5450
CPUs must be installed in the following slot number order: For
rp5400 slots 0, 3
rp5430 slots 0, 2
rp5450 slots 0, 3, 1, 2
rp5470 slots 0, 2, 1, 3
For rp5400 and rp5450 single CPU configurations, a processor terminator must be installed in slot 3.

Re: Re: install 2nd CPU on rp5450
Thanks for the info, but I installed the 2nd CPU on slot 3 where the terminator is. I remove the terminator and install the 2nd CPU, after which I try to bring up the server, on the console, I cannot see any display , there is no indication of hardware error but my run light keep blinking. I waited for 25mins or more till I gave up and remove the 2nd CPU from the server. Pls advice???
Regards
Vincent
