Solution
Hi,
the whole procedure is supported as online (without the downtime) and it is described in this thread for the EVA5k, but the steps are the same:

the pain is one part of the reality

Re: Adding HP M5314B FC Drive Enclosure a EVA 4000 with two enclosures
You should have got a M5314B enclosure installation instructions included in the box.
I attach a copy here.
Basically:
- put the enclosure in the rack
- Connect all cables except fiber channel
- Put at least one disk on the enclosure
- Disconnect cable from I/O A in enclosure 2
- Connect I/O A of enclosure 2 to I/O A of enclosure 3
- Connect I/O A of enclosure 3 to controller
- Check in Command View that there are no errors
- Repeat for loop B

Re: Adding HP M5314B FC Drive Enclosure a EVA 4000 with two enclosures
I have a similar issue. Our EVA4000 was installed while I was away so I didn't observe and learn more of the process, and now I need to add two Drive Enclosures to our EVA that currently has two enclosures.
I think I've figured out the cabling, but wanted to bounce it off others. Thanks
Current EVA setup:
Controller A
ControllerB
Disk Enclosure2
Disk Enclosure1
Cable01 from DP1A on CtrlA -> Port2 on DiskEnc2
Cable05 from Port1 on DiskEnc2 -> Port2 on DiskEnc1
Cable03 from Port1 on DiskEnc1 -> DP1A on CtrlB
Cable00 from DP1B on CtrlA -> Port1 on DiskEnc1
Cable04 from Port2 on DiskEnc2 -> Port1 on DiskEnc2
Cable02 from Port2 on DiskEnc2 -> DP1B on CtrlB
What I believe new setup should be (not sure of cable labeling yet):
Disk Enclosure4
Disk Enclosure3
Controller A
ControllerB
Disk Enclosure2
Disk Enclosure1
Cable01 from DP1A on CtrlA -> Port2 on DiskEnc4
Cable from Port1 on DiskEnc4 -> Port2 on DiskEnc3
Cable from Port1 on DiskEnc3 -> Port2 on DiskEnc2
Cable05 from Port1 on DiskEnc2 -> Port2 on DiskEnc1
Cable03 from Port1 on DiskEnc1 -> DP1A on CtrlB
Cable00 from DP1B on CtrlA -> Port1 on DiskEnc1
Cable04 from Port2 on DiskEnc1 -> Port1 on DiskEnc2
Cable from Port2 on DiskEnc2 -> Port1 on DiskEnc3
Cable from Port2 on DiskEnc3 -> Port1 on DiskEnc4
Cable02 from Port2 on DiskEnc4 -> DP1B on CtrlB
