FCA1201 Slow to Connect when Starting Windows 2003
Hi wonder if any one can help me with the following.
We have 4 DL 760 G2 that have started having a problem when starting Windows2003. At startup the install HBA cards seem to go into an unconnected state for about 1 minute then the connection will come up. During this time the operating system comes up and most of the shares are not created and some of the services fail to start. Once the systems are up the Disk are available.
We are running Securepath 4.0c and are connecting to EVA storage raid1 disks.
Driver version of the KPGSA is 5.4.82.16
THe HBA firmware revision is 1.61a2.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour or could suggest anything that may help.

Re: FCA1201 Slow to Connect when Starting Windows 2003
Hi Robert,
There are two thing I would suggest. First (standard) upgrade the drivers/firmware to the latest. Update also SP to 4.0cSP1. Since you did not provide any info about the SAN, make shure you have supported FW on FC switches and storage. Since this is emulex card, using the lputilnt try fixing the topology parameter to 1 (global) and try also fixing the speed of the fc link on switch side to 2G, so there will be no speed negotiating.
The drivers for the HBA cards are loaded during pregui time of windows startup, so there is no clear reason for such behaviour. If this will not help try giving us more info on your environment.
