Presenting disk from eva 5000 and eva 4400 , MPIO issue
Hi,
We have 3 eva 4400's and 1 eva 5000 (active/active)
We have a windows 2003 server sp1 , running mpio v3. full dsm and the disks presented from the eva 5000 work fine as the software installed is the one for the eva 5000.
The problem I have is I need to present a large lun from the eva 4400 to this server.
When I do this , I obviously get all the paths showing and not just one.
Can you run another version of the mpio(for the eva 4400) in conjunction with the current MPIO that I have installed (for the eva 5000).
Is there a way to presnet luns from Different SANS like this and only this one path to each lun presented ?
Cheers
Steve

Re: Presenting disk from eva 5000 and eva 4400 , MPIO issue
Hi,
maybe this could help you to check the coexistence:
EVA software compatibility reference doc:
http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c01525950/c01525950.pdf
or even better the SAN design guide page 193:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00403562/c00403562.pdf?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Re: Presenting disk from eva 5000 and eva 4400 , MPIO issue
Thanks for the reply,
I should have done more research as I have downloaded the MPIO 3.0.1 for eva 3000/5000 and it states it coexits with full dsm for eva 4x00 etc.
I guess it would be nice to hear from some one thats done this before.
That is , Install another dsm Module onto a single Server.
Cheers

Re: Presenting disk from eva 5000 and eva 4400 , MPIO issue
Hallo Steve,
I have install in a single server W2K3 3 types of MPIO, one for the EVA5000, one for the EVA4100 and one for the Fujitsu Eternus Storage.
Best regards, Herman
