SAN switch 2/16 to a MSA1000 Fabric Switch 6
What are the required steps necessary to attach a Fabric Switch 6 to a Switch 2/16?
Thanks
Eric

Re: SAN switch 2/16 to a MSA1000 Fabric Switch 6
- replace the Fabric Switch 6 with an embedded MSAswitch 2/8
- connect both switches
The Switch 6 is from a different vendor (Gadzoox) than the 2/16 (Brocade). If I remember correctly, the best thing you could do with it was cascade it one other 6.

Re: SAN switch 2/16 to a MSA1000 Fabric Switch 6
There are known compatability issues with connecting these two types of switches and I'd concur with Uwe that it shouldn't be done. The eight port switch is a B-Series (or Brocade) switch and will connect seemlessly to any other B-Series switches (such as the 2/16).
This is not the answer you wanted to hear, but you will have many issues to overcome/compensate for if you go down the path of connecting these two switches.

Ok thanks. I was afraid of that. I'd tried everything I found and never had any luck.
Thanks again,
Eric
