SecurePath for RedHat ELAS3.0 UP4 spmgr and spqgent issue
Hi all
Secure Path utility spagent and spmgr do not comminucate properly if you define your hostname in /etc/hosts file. In addition if last hostname definition in this file doesn't correspond to your hostname, spmgr doesnt display anything (i.e. spmgr display or spmgr log). If you change and put servers hostname at the last line, return normal and works well. When i've examined
/etc/CPQswsp/bin/spagent and spmgr, i found some clues related to this issue that this binarys look for hostname defined properly. According to the /etc/host.conf, first it looks for hostname definition on the /etc/hosts then by querying DNS records.
I wonder if there is someone who realize this before and has got some reasonable solution. Here is my logs
[root@lnxsrv3-test1 root]# spmgr display
Server: lnxsrv3-test.labs.itu.edu.tr Report Created: Tue, Mar 01 12:42:00 2005
Command: spmgr display
Error: Could not establish connection with spagent; it may not be running.
Bu durumda spmgr log komutunun ciktisi ise
