I have been setting up Storage Node Manager to monitor a SAN and EMC storage. Everything is fine except that it discovers zones on only one switch in the SAN. Two identical Brocade switches, one discovers all the zoning info but from the second switch only the attached devices and no zones in the SAN. I have enabled SNMP discovery of both switches and their respective IPs, I have configured the admin password for both switches but still does not discover the zones. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
George

SolutionMaybey kickin'in an open door here.....
If you look in you (physical) device map
are both of your switches green?
Did you install the Latest DPI's?
look at http://www.openview.hp.com/products/dpi/index.html
Are both switches zoning identical (wwn,port,mixed....zoned)
I even encountered problem in OVSAM with
a faulty working DNS

Re: Storage Node Manager (SAM) and discovering zones on Brocade switch
When I look in the Storage Area Manager I can see the zones. But when I select one of the available zones and select the map overview none of my systems (except for the switch itself) is displayed as if it is in the selected zone (i.e. light green instead of green).
Do you experience the same behaviour?
I'm wondering if this can be fixed by changing the configuration or that this is normal behaviour.
Best regards,
Michel
