HP RX7620 Itanium A6913A cell board firmware
I need a few A6913A cell boards to go into the RX7620 Itanium server. Can anyone point me to where I can upgrade or change the firmware on my A6913A PA-RISC cell boards
Thanks

Re: HP RX7620 Itanium A6913A cell board firmware
Assuming you have the upgrade kit from rp7420 to rx7620....
New such cell boards came always with two firmware banks of which one holds a PA f/w and the other a IA f/w. When it detects a IA processor it will load the IA firmware bank.
Upgrade your system F/W via the MP with the DC power to the cabinet off.
The system F/W for the RX7620 is available here:

For the rp7440 to rx7640 here is a very short description on what steps to perform, should be identical for an upgrad to rx7620:

Re: HP RX7620 Itanium A6913A cell board firmware
You just need to remove the PA-RISC processors and install the supported Itanium processors on the cell board. With cabinet power off, update the system with rx7620 firmware using MP/FTP method. The firmware update will install the IA firmware in one of the firmware banks and it will be used thereafter. This in-box upgrade is possible because the cell boards were designed to be easily upgradeable to Intel Itanium 2 Madison, HP mx2 and future PA-RISC processors. You just need the upgrade-kit and CPUs.

You may want to refer the rp7420-rx7620 upgrade guide if you have one. I can't attach it since it's bigger in size than what is allowed here.
