I have a LH3 and I'm trying install NT, but it is telling me that it can't see the hard drives. I probably need a SCSI driver, right? Help!

Solution
Mike,
When installing NT it is best to boot off the 3 floppies and at the end of diskette two press "S" to skip mass storage detection. Then press "S" to specify additional drivers.
Then install the NetRaid driver (make sure your new array is initialized prior in Ctrl-M) and then install the atapi IDE CD-ROM 1.2 driver from the pulldown list after first loading the NetRaid Driver.
The drivers, bios and fw for the LH 3 are all available here: http://h20004.www2.hp.com/soar_rnotes/bsdmatrix/matrix50448en_US.html
I would also recommend flashing the bios and fw's of your server and controllers to make sure that you are at the latest levels.
Ciao,
Greg

Re: Can't find hard drives
For reference, there is an HP document on this common issue of NT not seeing the hard drives when OEM drivers need to be loaded.

The Netserver LH3 has a dual-channel integrated RAID/SCSI controller. By default SCSI A is RAID-enabled, and connected to the first hot swap drive cage. Use the F2 BIOS setup to check your settings. If a drive is connected to a NetRAID controller, you must configure the drive(s) into a RAID array before installing the OS.
