Here's how HPE OEM helps Velocix provide the foundational technology for video service
When families gather to watch a program at homeโwhether on-demand or liveโthey expect the service to be delivered immediately at the push of a button. Any issues or delays in content delivery reflect poorly on the service provider, making it vital that their technology delivers the lowest possible latency and the highest degree of reliability.
โOur software needed to run on hardware platforms that could support the carrier-grade commitment we make to our customers. That means hardware that delivers the best performance, runs without fault, is easy to maintain, and features resilient system designs", said Jim Brickmeier, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Velocix. Velocixโs software technology, which runs on HPE servers, provides the foundation for delivering and monetizing live television, on-demand video, and time-shifted TV services.
Moving to HPE ProLiant DL325 servers before the pandemic proved to be a fortuitous decision. Despite the rapid increase in demand for online streamingโincluding movies, TV shows, news, and content to support online learningโthe impact on Velocix solutions and technology was negligible. To ensure its customers receive continuous, stable service, Velocix partnered with leading OEMs like Hewlett Packard Enterprise. The companyโs partnership with HPE began in 2009 and remains strong today.
โHPE OEM Solutions are a great partner for Velocix given their global scale and ability to respond to our evolving needs. We often require fast turnaround times to keep our customersโ projects on schedule and HPE finds a way to help us out", Brickmeier said. Customers can rest assured that Velocix and HPE will be behind the scenes working together, helping service providers connect millions of consumers around the globe with the sports, news, and entertainment content they love to watch.
