Can D Class server run 11.11?

I've got a small D class server that I'm using for a RMAN repository. Can the D Class servers run HPUX 11.11?

Yes, it can run 11.11, I've got it running on two in my apartment. I know, I need to rent a life not an apartment.

It will work.

Check the memory requirements for RMAN however before proceeding.

You will need to install a ton of patches to have decent performance on a D Class Server.

Yes, they can. I have several running 11.11.

Depending on the model server, it may be 32-bit only or 32/64 bit.

thanks for the info. I've loaded the patches to run 64-bit, for now the RAM I have seems to be sufficient (unless 11.11 requires significantly more RAM for the same performance)

Your apartment sounds to me like a datacenter sometimes.

Having 3 or 5 kids will do the trick, one with a cold, the other one playing tricks around the house and the other trying to eat, LOL.

IIRC the D Class servers had some EISA slots in them. The 64-bit HP-UX kernel does not include support for EISA.
