Errormessage when starting gpm (glance)

Hi,

While starting gpm (the x-version of glance) i get the following error:

Connecting to Display...
Connected to X Display
Enabling Measurement...
Measurement Enabled
Metric 40 is not available
***** FATAL ERROR *******
Module: gpm.c Line: 2674
Message: parm.h using unavailable metrics
***** FATAL ERROR *******

Does anybody have a clue what's going on?

Thanx, Danny.

Re: Errormessage when starting gpm (glance)

yes you are using inconsistent versions of the products which are incorporated within the gpm product.

rather than run gpm try glance my guess is it will work :

you need to install / update all gpm products at the same time / level :

run perfstat -v to compare binaries versions etc etc ... it's a known issue so suspect info is available on the itrc .... sorry busy at the mo ...

Re: Errormessage when starting gpm (glance)

Can you post the output from '/opt/perf/bin/perfstat -v' as well as '/usr/bin/what /var/opt/perf/metdesc' ? I suspect either a mismatched glanceplus/measureware installation, mismatched glanceplus file versions, or an old copy of metdesc. If the metdesc version is older than glance, try copying the metdesc file from /opt/perf/newconfig to /var/opt/perf
