I want to replace a lan card which is configured as a vswitch lan on a VMhost.
The vswitch is presented to a VMGuest.
I must delete and re-create the vswitch ?
Thanks.

Re: How to replace a lan card associated with a vswitch on a vmguest ?
Strait from the hpvmnet man page.
In order to switch over the lan1 from lan0:
# hpvmnet -C -S hostnet -n 0
# hpvmnet -S hostnet
Name Number State Mode NamePPA MAC Address IP Address
======== ====== ======= ========= ======== ============== ===============
hostnet 296 Up Shared lan0 0x00306e4a93e6
Have not done it myself. I think either way would work. modify the hpvmnet or just delete and recreate or just clone the first one then delete the old one ?
Many ways to skin this cat.

Solution
so you have a faulty NIC, abnd are going to replace the card, so the lan PPA is the same.
Just halt the vSwitch, delete it, and then recreate it using the lan card and boot the vSwitch

When a faulty NIC is replace, the lan PPA is the same, so we don't need to do anything.
Thanks for your help.
