HP-UX OS B.11.00 version upgrade !

Dear Experts,

My system is using HP9000 cluster with HP-UX version B.11.00. I want to OS upgrade to lastest version B.11.11. Please help me some questions

1. Do I need to buy new licenses ?
2. If i can reuse licenses. Can i have to contact HP to get new licenses key?
3. Is it better for new install or upgrade from current OS?

1 and 2 : if you have a support contract you neede new licenses keys, you can ask the new keys on http://licensing.hp.com

3 : I have done several upgrades succesfully, but i know that not everybody agrees with me. With a you preparation an upgrade can also be succesfully.

3. It is recomended that you do a fresh installation, OS upgrades tend to go wrong.

Hi QVu,

As far as i know you have to buy new licence for 11i. You should get a discount because you have old licences.

My experience is that it's better to do a cold installation. The best way is to do an installation on 1 disk and let 11.0 stand on the other disk. After a few days clear the 11.0 disk and mirror the 11i disk.
