Is it necessory to install gcc when I compile vsftpd source on HP-UX?

Where can I find the right gcc binary version to compile vsftpd v2.0.3? Are there any other GNU softwares I must install before install gcc and vsftpd?

Dose it need root right to install vsftpd when gcc has been install correctly by root?

And yes, it needs to be compiled by gcc, which will also need to include gmake (http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/hpux/Gnu/make-3.80/), binutils (included with gcc), gettext (http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/hpux/hpux/Gnu/gettext-0.14.1/), libiconv (http://hpux.ee.ualberta.ca/hppd/hpux/hpux/Development/Libraries/libiconv-1.9.2/),

If this uses the VSF filesystem, then you are out of luck, as I haven't found a work around for this!

What is VSF Filesystem? Why filesystem can effect the ftpd?

By the way, does vsftpd support large files (> 2GB) on HP-UX?

My Server's config:
PA-RISC CPU
HP-UX 11iv1
VxFS Filesystem
