Re: LTO4 drive changed now NO_HW listed in ioscan
# fcmsutil /dev/fcd0 replace_dsk 0x03a400
WARNING: If the device is currently opened by the driver, performing this
operation would render I/O requests to either be errored back
or be performed on the new replaced disk. This could lead to
data inconsistency. Please make sure that the disk is not in
use before proceeding further.
Do you want to continue? (y/n) [n]...y
Disk at nportid 0x03a400 will not be authenticated
(yes, I did adjust the command to our server - fcd0 is the correct HBA)

Re: LTO4 drive changed now NO_HW listed in ioscan
OK, problem solved.
It was a FW mismatch issue after all.
HP guy downgraded drive's FW and now everything works just fine.
No replace_dsk or anything else was necessary.
Thanks for your ideas.

Re: LTO4 drive changed now NO_HW listed in ioscan
This is one of the features:
"World wide name (WWN) retentionâ The WWN is retained when you replace an LTO4 tape
drive with another LTO4 tape drive."
but I'm sure you need to follow the correct procedures and firmware and commandview must be up to date and consistent.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
