I'm just curious: there's a lot of mails outbound from my HP-UX 11.23 servers from the account "adm@myserver.mydomain.com" to "itadm@rsn.hp.com".
Just want to know what it means cause my firewall is stopping all of them.

Re: Mail from a "adm@myserver.mydomain.com"
There may be a misconfiguration somewhere in one application that is detecting an alert condition and sending an email to a target mailbox..
Only You can verify the processes on your system, loggings, alerts.
good luck
kind regards

Re: Mail from a "adm@myserver.mydomain.com"
Do you know which app could be sending? What is "rsn.hp.com"?
Any clues?
Regards.

Re: Mail from a "adm@myserver.mydomain.com"
No. (Do you use f90?) rsn.hp.com is a domain within HP.
I sent a message there to see if anyone responses.

SolutionFrom the man page:
"iCOD attempts to connect to HP via e-mail for
purposes of asset reporting."
You can turn it off with the icod_notify command (icod_notify -a off) or alternatively configure a valid "from" address to prevent mail servers from blocking it:
icod_modify -f
To test if the emails then get through, run a test:
icod_notify
It will send you the email it sends to HP and HP should send you a reply email as well.
