hi all,
i'm trying to open CDE connection using reflection, and connect to a tcsh account.
for some reason, i can't connect, it is got stuck during the connection attemt.
i tried to delete dt files, but it wouldn't help.
in the ~.dt/startlog the last line is -
Error: Can't open display: 10.53.30.71:0.0. i have no idea what is this ip (it's neither the pc i'm trying to connect from or the server i'm trying to connect to, or any other node in my network)
ideas?

Re: opening cde to tcsh account
Hi
1)Can you ping this ip
2)nslookup ip
What does it give on the server
3)nslookup name
nslookup ip
Of both server and pc on both server and pc. do they agree
4)Check /etc/profile
$HOME/.profile
$HOME/.dtprofile
for this ip

Solution
Hi,
i think that someone hardcoded this IP ieither in your xsession start script ( on your PC), or in the server.
First i would check on your PC: maybe you used it on another customer, and you left some identification...
THen: telnet to the host, and check the environtment.
HTH,
Massimo
