Performance issue when ftpd from one lun to another filesystem

Hi ,

We take EMC mirror clone in our setup for oracle bkp purpose.

We have a script which puts db ( hpux v2 rx6600 ) in freeze mode , and we take mirror clone and mount it on one of our bkp server hpux 11iv2 8c/64gb 6600 .

We use it when one of our main batch job fails to restore data from this mirror clone to source lun.

We are facing issue now when we have ftpd data from mirror clone lun to source lun . i.e we have done rm -r in source lun , and ftpd data from mirror clone lun to source lun .

After which we are facing performnce issue . ie time taken for our batch job to complete has doubled .

Initially it was 60 min nw its taking 110 min .

We have tries fsadm -de option , but tis nt working , any suggestions ?

What works is we need to copy data to EVA lun ad back to EMC lun , then it works fine , its tried and works in prodctn .

But we do no want to take downtime to carry out this activity .

We ned to understnd whats going wrong here ? And how can w eachive this online or mayb minimum downtime.

DB lun is of 800 GB , Oracle 9i .

Re: Performance issue when ftpd from one lun to another filesystem

Hi guys,

We suspect it to be filesystem issue.

We have upgraded to version 7 , hopefully wont face any issues now.
