Retrofitting Service Guard..

Hi All,

I have to retrofit service guard to an existing rx8640 running 11.23 & Oracle, we're adding another rx8640 as the second node & sharing out the SAN attached disks.

Is it as straight forward as installing serviceguard on both hosts, setting up the cluster, sharing the VG's & starting the cluster?

Any tips, advice or documents on this very welcome!

TIA!

Re: Retrofitting Service Guard..

if SG is not already installed, then yes, simply swinstall SG, and follow th procedures documented in the Managing Serviceguard at http://docs.hp.com/en/ha under Serviceguard.
P.S. make sure you patch the system, especially teh correct PHSS* patch for the version of Serviceguard you are installing.

Also, if you intend to install the Serviceguard Storage Management Suite, I HIGHLY recommend the patches listed at http://www.hp.com/go/sgsms/patches
