sh: history: not found.

dear exert,

   In HP-UX B.11.31 U ia64, i run history with root , the following was that, "sh: history: not found."   Please help me  where the history was..  How to open this command ?

dear expert, 

 In the shell env, the variables HISTFILE=//.sh_history
SHELL=/sbin/sh
HISTSIZE=5000  were there.   However i found the  history command use alias 'fc -l'.  So when i could not executed  ' history -c'. The error was sh: fc: A specified flag is not valid for this command.

when i unalias the history,  i found the : sh: history: not found.
