Re: syslog message

It means you've got potentially serious memory problems.
Normally this is not so serious unless lots of them start appearing.

You want to get mstm installed
software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/ and run a
tools->information->run on your memory

The LPMC means Low Priority Machine Check.
Single Partity error that was corrected.

You don't want to see them on a regular basis.

Re: syslog message

Hello,

there seems to be a memory module defective. The error is corrected, since you seem to have ECC-memory, but you should open a service-call and let the service replace the memory module.

Hope this helps

Re: syslog message

Hi

It is a low level memory error :-

This thread covered it:-

Re: syslog message

Hi,
sounds like you might want to call HP ;)
Seems like you have some bad memory. You could try to power off and on your system, and check if the error returns. But probably some memory needs to be replace.

Re: syslog message

Hi Phil!
Just to help you on troubleshooting:

Your problem doesn't seem to be related with memmory, maybe you should check this with the HP support.
good luck.

Re: syslog message

Thanks for your suggestions everyone. I had a idea it might be memory. However I've restarted the machine & everything now appears normal. I'll keep my eye on it & call support.

Thanks again.

Re: syslog message

Memory error. Remove the memory chips, clean the contacts, reinsert.

If the error is gone : Fine
If not : Call service
Postfix/BIND/Security/IDS/Scanner, you name it...
