Re: System log files information
All the various files in /var/adm/syslog are the ones you're after.
Cheers,
James

Re: System log files information
Do you mean where are the files, or how to decifer what;s in them? as to where, two big ones are the /etc/rc.log, which contains all the startup and shutdown info (what starts, if successful, etc). The other big hitter is the syslog, (/var/adm/syslog/syslog.log). This one logs all the stuff about the system when running. As to the stuff in the syslog, the best bet is when something comes up, either look here on forums or search the knowledge tree for the error. Sometimes, items in the syslog will point to you another log as well. For a bigger list of log files that are kept, you can see them in SAM, under the routine tasks icon. There is an option to trim log files there, and you will get a list of many of them, but it won't tell you what they are for or what they are recording.

Re: System log files information
The main system log file is /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
Also, you can use dmesg command. with it, you can see the situation of your system, if you have any problem with hard o other.
I think is a good idea, if you need further information, to see the HP manuals:
www.docs.hp.com
I hope this help you.
Note: Please, please, do not forget give us points. Thank you.
Juanma.
