Solutionsysman SUIT is indeed the complicated way, but what about:
rcmgr set IFCONFIG_0 "new.sys.addr.net netmask 255.255.255.xyz"
grep -v "old.address.net" /etc/hosts > /etc/hosts.tmp
echo "new.sys.addr.net hostname" >> /etc/hosts.tmp
mv /etc/hosts /etc/hosts.bck
mv /etc/hosts.tmp /etc/hosts
/usr/sbin/rcinet restart

Re: script for sysman to change ip
that was a helpful answer indeed.
I wasn't sure, in how many files sysman makes changes.
The only mishap was that it was not interface 0.
But other than that it worked perfectly!
thanks,
Michael
