Delete and Convert Raid 1 to Raid 5

Hi,

My HP Proliant DL380 Gen10 has 4 * 300GB Hard Disk and has configured two Raid 1 array.

It shows as 2 Logical Drive with space of 300GB Each. My questioin is, is it possible to delete any one of Raid 1  and convert the other one into Raid 5 so that my server will have one Logical Drive with space of 900GB without loosing the OS and Data.

The server is running Ubuntu Server 20.04.3

Thank you in advance.

Re: Delete and Convert Raid 1 to Raid 5

Hi,

Its possible to delete one RAID 1 and that becomes two Unassigned Drives.
You can then add them to the other RAID and Migrate to RAID 5.

Most Important:
Always take a backup of your data before doing any changes to the RAID configuration.
Please gothrough the Server QuickSpecs and Smart Array Guide for help.
Please make sure the Array controller in your server supports online RAID migration.
Update the Array Controller firmware if needed.
