detect drive failure in HW raid

With respect to the HP DL g9/g10 series, when you have a drive failure as part of a HW raid array, how are you notified or how can you check remotely? The OS (ESXi) seems to be unaware when a failure occurs and the array is degraded. The only 2 options I know of is to periodically login to ILO to check or to physically look at the drive lights. Im looking for something which will notify me when such a failure occurs rather than having to go manualy check on a recurring basis.

Re: detect drive failure in HW raid

Hi,

If its a single server, please check the iLO AMS and SNMP alerts.
If its multiple servers in a enterprise environment, we have OneView.

Thank You!
