HP ProLiant DL180 G6 emergency shutdown
Hi
I have 2 180 G6 server.
Server1 OS:window2003 server 2 OS: window 2008 R2
These two server also have the emergency shutdown problem.
i check the hpqmgmt log show that:
Power supply 2 has been removed
Event ID:3
However,i only use the (power supply 1) for the server power supply. (power supply 2 didn't plugin) This log appeared before emergency shutdown.
I try to use (power supply 2) for the server power supply. It still have the similar problem
THe next log was:
Emergency shutdown initiated
Event ID:3
I was using the "Smart update Firmware DVD ver 9.20" to update the driver but still can't solve the problem.
Could anyone help me to solve this problem?
Thank

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 emergency shutdown
Hi,
This could be issue with the power supply or Power Backplane Assembly itself, try swapping one by one to isolate the issue. i guess power supply should resolve this issue.
Regards,
Murali V

Re: HP ProLiant DL180 G6 emergency shutdown
Hi Newbie,
similar issue is addressed in latest DL180 G6 bios
I would suggest you to update system bios and ILO firmware before replacing the power supply.
