HP SL4540 OS is super slow, high IO, no cache
Hi,
I bought 2 HP SL4540 2 node to run Exchange 2013
All Exchange datatabase disks are connected to the P420i which has an 1GB cache.
The OS (Windows Server 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013) are installed in the disks attached to the Dynamic Smart Array B120i RAID Controller.
When I check perfmon in Windows I can see that the two 1TB disks are almost always at a 100% Active Time (IO) and performing updates or even rebooting the machine is really slow because of the high disk IO.
As far as I can see the B120i doesn't have a write cache.
I've attached a screenshot from perfmon and also the Diagnostic Report of the B120i.
Is there any option add a cache to the SL4540 B120i? I wunder how other people are running the product on the SL4540 series.
Thank you and have a nice weekend.
Kind regards,
Wolfgang
