Smart Array P440ar no status messages on HP ProLiant ML350 Gen9

The client recently had the Smart Array P440ar controller replaced about 2 months ago.  The client is complaining of slowness issues.  The one yellow flag I'm seeing so far is that there are not status messages in the Smart Storage Administrator.   I would think it should show something good or bad.

Thanks for the clarification,  I did see the SSA software but it says it is for Gen 10 and Gen 11 and my server is a Gen9 which I didn't find one for that.

From the SSA link, you need to choose your server model, it will show which version is compatible and which is not.

The SSA software is uptodate.   Will updating P440ar firmware break a production system,  is this updated from windows or some pre-boot environment?
