Updating nic card drivers software and firmware

Got a server with a pair of HP NC371i gigabit cards. They are currently teamed together.

Have noticed that both the config utilty and actual card drivers are way out of date. I was wondering if theres any way of upgrading without any server downtime?

Im guessing I could upgrade each NIC card separately if needs be (leaving one to continue)?

But not sure about the netconfig utility?

Re: Updating nic card drivers software and firmware

Hi,

Server downtime is necessary to perform this task.

Because both the NIC are identical, the drivers/software will be updated for both in single go, can't update one nic at a time.

Thank You!

Re: Updating nic card drivers software and firmware

Also if you update the teaming software and you use teaming the server will also be unreachable for a few seconds. So that is on top of the nic update. I alway update nic and teaming from the ILO console, just to be sure...

Kind regards,
