UPS option grayed

I've installed the power management agent on a proliant 800. The communication is ok but the ups option in insight manager is grayed even after installing the ups software in insight so I cannot change any option or see my attachement.

Is there a 'space' character in the device name (name of server attached to UPS). If so, the UPS icon will be grayed out.

Are you using the correct cable to connect the UPS to the server's serial port? The cable is not simply a straight-thru cable.

Hi

OK so you installed the power agent on the server . I then presume that you installed to power client on the CIM console .
I also presume that the power agents are accessible via http://ipadress:2301


If the button is still grayed outunder CIM, be sure that the power agents are installed on the following path on the server : C:\WINNT\CPQCPM

If the path is different, the button will always be grayed out .
