DL380 G3 Image moved to DL380 G4 Inaccessible_boot_device

I have a DL380 G3 Image of Windows 2000 Server created with Acronis that I can install on new drives on another DL380 G3 and the system boots fine. If I take those new drives and reinstall the same image on a DL380 G4, Windows boots into a blue screen with a 7b (Inaccessible boot device fault) I'm not using any other disk drives on either system. Any ideas?

Mike,

I have done a lot with Acronis, I works like charm,

First ensure you have universal restore Addon installed, take the latest backup. then start your restore process with universal restore, and when you are about to confirm the imaging you would get the window asking for Additional SCSI Adaptor drivers.

At this screen give the apt driver downloaded from Hp Web site for g4 servers.

Hurray your system will boot up. But again if it needs more drivers then a bit of work would solve all those.

There may be kerberos error is you do this with Domain controller.

Thank you. I'll upgrade to the version that provides universal restore and try it.
