low perfomance in a RAID 5 (Netserver tc3100)
HI !
I create a Raid 5 with 3 hard drives on this Server.
- 3 HD 36gb 10k ultra3
The creation is successfully, but the perfomance in mb/sec is so low !!
With a hard-drive test-speed application the read speed are:
MAXIMUM= 28794 kps
MINIMUM= 9876 kps
AVERAGE= 24274 kps
RANDOM ACCESS TIME= 8.8ms
2 HD are fujitsu and 1 seagate
This perfomance is correct ???

Re: low perfomance in a RAID 5 (Netserver tc3100)
This sounds low, but it depends on your benchmark, of course. If this is for a large sequential file access, then it should be in the region of 40-60 MB/sec.
Try taking a look at individual SCSI ID's, and make sure that they are not locked at a lower speed than ultra-160.
