Can't mount iLO virtual media: unrecognized file system

Trying to mount iLOv2 virtual media.
After connecting virtual media I see new device:

# ioscan -fnC disk
Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
=====================================================================
disk 4 255/1/0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP Virtual CD-ROM
                         /dev/dsk/c3t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c3t1d0

When I try to mount I get error:

# mount /dev/dsk/c3t1d0 /root/cdrom
/dev/dsk/c3t1d0: unrecognized file system
#
# mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/c3t1d0 /root/cdrom
/dev/dsk/c3t1d0: unrecognized file system

I downloaded iso file from HP and used it to install THIS OS via same iLOv2 - so I know iso and iLO are OK.

What I'm doing wrong ?

Re: Can't mount iLO virtual media: unrecognized file system

I have identical iLOv2 server with older HP-UX patch level, and different fileset selection - and it mounts same iso just fine.
Machine with problem is basically default install of newest HP-UX core media.
And it not only fails to mount virtual media - it also fails to remove virtual media device after "Disconnect" button is clicked - that device is removed after I reset iLO.

Maybe I'm missing some filesets ?
Or should I use older HP-UX patch level install ?

Hello vilius_m,

This is more to do with iLO / system firmware rather than the OS installed in server .
Please compare the firmware of those servers , where it is working  & not working and see if non-working has OLD firmware .
You may check the quick specs / related information of this server , and see if you have the latest revision of firmware (system/iLO).

Re: Can't mount iLO virtual media: unrecognized file system

It's not firmware - both working and not iLOv2 servers have same final firmware.
It's HP-UX release (patch level?) - I did few installations and figured that v2005 and all below releases mount CDs just fine,  while v2105 and v2205 have this problem (my guess it's happening only with iLOv2).

Re: Can't mount iLO virtual media: unrecognized file system

Hello vilius_m,

It could be iLOv2 which may be causing this .

You may try mounting the new OE (2105 & 2205) images in any newer iLO (v3 or above) and see if this works.
