HP Colorado External 8GB
while backing-up the tape stopped suddenly without error message.
I use Windows NT 4.0.
Even when I restarted the Pc and cleaned the Catalogues directory in Windows Explorer it doesn't work at all.

Re: HP Colorado External 8GB
Hi ya Leirman,
Couple of questions... is the drive an internal or external? Which backup software are using? ie. Backup Exec, CBII?
When you say the tape stops, is that right in the middle of a backup and then you receive no error? Have you cleaned the heads by retensioning them lately? Also have you cleaned the end of tape sensor?
Also have you visited the hp drivers and downloads page for 8gb drives? you can Tape Diag there, a diagnostic tool to run on the drive, as well as the latest firmware for your drive.

Live and let live - unless they are really...really stupid..then they may need a smack
