LTO-8 problems
we are using LTO-8 here and it seems quite unstable on windows.
Firstly LTO-8 seems simply just to hang the windows system. I suspect a driver problem for the LTFS filesystem. We have the latest software loaded.
Secondly I have a tape stuck in the drive. And yes I have tried all the known solutions of reset. power off, stuck tape test etc but no luck. ONly thing left is to open the box. For older version there are some youtube videos but for the LTO-8 there is nothing I can find. Can anybody help.
Have tried to log a case with HPE but they say the PN and SN on the devie ar enot valid and can offewr no help. Well done HPE (not). I will buy IBM from now on!!

Re: LTO-8 problems
the system is probably hanging up because of the tape issue and chances are there's an issue with the drive that caused the tape issue, probably snapped.
Also from LTO7 onwards all LTO's are IBM drives rebranded.

@tapelibraryfixr Based on this, could one use IBM firmware in an HPE LTO-8 machine?
